Featured on Channel 4s Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas and in Making Magazine, Emma Herian shares her love for textiles with us in this great new class in which we learn to create the perfect gift for Easter
Emma Herian says that she first felt the creative urge since she learnt to knit on two pencils during school story time! Since that time, Emma studied ceramics and plastics at Brighton University before going on to work in furniture design in London. Becoming a mother reignited Emma’s passion for textiles, exhibiting and selling unique handmade pieces and we’re delighted to introduce Emma and her needle felting class to our repertoire of art classes.
Week 1 - Easter egg decorations
In our first week, we’ll get to know the tools for the trade for the craft of needle felting as well as getting to grips with some basic processes and techniques. These skills will help us during the next two weeks as we start to create our own felting work.
Week 2 - Flower Decorations
In Week 2, we’ll felt using the technique we learned in our first week to create our Easter flower decorations.
Week 3 - Rabbit/sheep
In our third week, you’ll use your new found skills to create a three dimensional Rabbit, Hare or Lamb. You’ll be guided through the process step by step in order to create the structure of your animal.
All tools and materials will be provided as well as useful worksheets for each lesson.
