Festive Textile Screenprint workshop with Emma Evans-Freke
Date and Time - Thursday 8th December - 7 to 9.30pm
Location - ArtStart, Studio 14, Star Brewery, Castle Ditch Lane, Lewes, BN7 1YJ
About the workshop
In this 2.5hr evening class Emma shares with us what materials are required to screenprint onto fabrics. We will then cut a paper stencil mix our inks and print a pretty table runner or tea towel. Why not bring along a plain T-shirt, set of napkins or cushion cover to make a gift for a friend. This workshop is a great introduction to textile printing and the joys of making at home.
Emma studied textile design at Edinburgh college of art and has since found this simple and rewarding technique the backbone of her work to make designs that can be reproduced on textiles or as art prints.
Emma will provide all the materials. We will work with red ink to make a beautiful contrasting festive design.
