One Day Colour Course - What you need to know

Saturday 6th April - 10am to 3pm

Whether you are a beginner or just want to improve your colour knowledge, this course will take your understanding to the next level. We’ll be covering the fundamentals of colour theory and the colour wheel. Looking at how light affects colour. How to see 'value' in colour and make informed choices. You'll no longer just mix paint to match a colour, you'll understand its make up.

What to Expect:

Guided Instruction: Through different exercises you’ll practice colour mixing with a limited palette (Zorn palette) of 2 colours + black and white. We'll look at how to make colours 'Pop' using a combination of composition and high key and low key palettes. 

Hands-On Experience: You'll practice what you've learnt with short exercises, that you can take home in a sketchbook.

Culminating in a painting in oils of a still life from the colour mixing you've learnt.

Inspiring Atmosphere: Our light and airy studio at Star Brewery is the perfect place to sit back and enjoy an afternoons painting.

Personalized Feedback: Receive constructive feedback and guidance tailored to your experience.

Beginners and improvers: Whether you're a beginner or just want to improve your knowledge and not struggle with colour mixing. This course will elevate your knowledge to the next level. It is designed for anyone looking to expand their knowledge and skills in colour theory in a friendly and inspiring group.

  • Date & Time: Saturday 6th April 10 – 3pm

  • Materials: All painting supplies will be provided.
